HP Laptop Not Connecting to WiFi on Windows 10 [Solved] By Sophie Luo – Last Updated: 1 year ago Network issues WiFi 10 Comments If you’re on Windows 10 and your Wi-Fi is slow or goes on and off from time to time, you’re not alone.

My company recently purchased a new HP Pavillion notebook for work use. The laptop came with a 2.4 ghz wireless card installed, but I need to be able to see 5ghz networks for work as well. I'm wondering if this laptop can have it's wireless card swapped out for a dual band wi-fi card so I might see both 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks. If this is impossible due to the card being part of the motherboard or due to lack of space requirements, is there a USB dual band wi-fi adapter that I could use in place of the built in wi-fi adapter?

Officially, the laptop does not support a 2 x 2 wireless card. https://heavybuy.weebly.com/download-game-pubg-mobile-for-pc.html. The Intel version of the same laptop supports this one:

Yours is AMD. HP for the last 10 years has had a BIOS whitelist where only certain specific cards would work. Sometime about the end of 2013 they dropped it for some models. I have an Envy 17t-j029nr that came out at Christmastime and has no whitelist. We have not been able to get HP to specify which models do and do not have the whitelist. Mine is also an Intel so I cannot say for sure the whitelist has been dropped on any AMD model. If I had to bet I would say yours still has the whitelist or the Manual would not limit the 2 x 2 wifi card to the Intel models.
The wireless card is not soldered but if you plug in the wrong one and there is a whitelist it will not boot.

Here is a usb 802.11n 2 x 2 dongle you could use and it will work for sure.

I have a 17 j130ea laptop, which from new the wifi would drop off randomly, also the 2.4 ghz was a pain as i normally use 5ghz, HP sent me a new card which just plugs in , but that didnt solve the 5ghz problem, I bought an Intel 7260 ac wifi card which does everything inc Bluetooth , its so easy to fit and it is a far superior card, windows loaded with no problem and the laptop even loaded the latest drivers, such a pity HP have spoilt this computer with a cheap single chan card, when for a few pounds more they could have fitted the intel card, the cost of the card to me £25.00 ,well worth it.
